Mt. Phongan Razi  - Towering 3606 meters above the sea level exists in the North West of Putao near Myanmar- India border and  is well known as a lady among the local ethic in this region. The remoteness and difficult accessibility of the region has helped to maintain the pristine purity of its forest and eco-systems. The richness of its biodiversity deserves to be maintained and fostered in the interest of coming generations and present unparalleled opportunities to present-day professionals in the field of zoology, botany, forestry, environmental protection, conservation and ecology.

After walking for half hour from Awadum, you will reach Kharlang suspension bridge and have your lunch there, but you will not cross the bridge, rather pass along the Namlang creek for about 2 hours to get to Ziyadum at the altitude of 1068 m above sea level, the last frontier village for this route. You will notice that all the houses of the village, being built of wood, bamboo, rattan and bark, have spacious plot with wood or bamboo fence. The villagers mainly live on cultivation, hunting and foraging for medicinal insect called “Cordycept” in botanical term, which plays main role in Chinese alternative medicine. It will take you 3-4 hours to the peak depending on the condition of weather and snow. Covered with frost, the alpine trees growing on the mountain range are so sensational that it’s worth taking memorial photos of the spectacular view of gorgeous mountains scenery. You may have some refreshment on the peak after spending a few minutes in photo, and walk down with the same passage to base camp to spend one more night at the same camp. Due to ecosystem being not impaired, you may, by chance, happen to see “Takins” (endemic wild animal) which inhabit near the snow line.(approx. walking hour 6)

Day 08  (Base camp to Thitpingyi 1850 m via Khadaungmyit camp)

After breakfast, as you trek down in the valley with twisting root path of up and down terrain, you need to be more careful in order to avoid your feet being twisted.
