The main tourist destination in Myanmar is Bagan, capital of the first Myanmar Empire; one of the richest archaeological sites in South-east Asia. It is situated on eastern bank of the Ayeyawaddy River. 

The Magic of Bagan has inspired visitors to Myanmar for nearly 1000 years. There are about 2,000 Stupas & Temples covering an area of 42 square kilometers (16 square miles) on the eastern bank of the Ayeyarwady in central Myanmar. 

They are in different sizes and in a bewildering variety of shapes. They are also in varying stages of preservation and disrepair. 

Bagan is full of ancient architecture and ruins. Temples, pagodas, monuments, stone scripts, votive tablets, wall paintings, mural paintings, stucco carvings can be found in many places in Bagan. 

Northeastern part of Bagan, there has Nyaung U Village’s local market and you can find nearly all Myanmar goods in its different sections, that is one of the country’s specialty.
