Kalaw is standing high on the western edge of the Shan Plateau and it is an old colonial hill station with a laid-back atmosphere, refreshing climate and scenic views.

Kalaw offers cool temperatures, plenty of trekking opportunities and a wide variety of options for exploration. At Kalaw’s heart is its market where villages from the surrounding hills come to sell their produce.

Traveling by car, it's about two hours west of Nyaungshwe and this was a popular hill station in the British days and it is still a peaceful and quiet place.
